Three people who will boost your financial plan.

By Tee Rogers

We’re all looking at our budgets – and if you’re anything like me, it’s not easy. How are we going to improve our financial future?

My dream is to someday adopt a dog. Even better – several. Maybe care for terminally ill & elderly dogs who need a peaceful, loving place to just BE. What goals motivate you to get your finances in order?

We can trim our budgets, take a realistic look at our financial situation, review our accounts, monitor our credit, track our spending, build a savings cushion, make plans to pay off debt, make a plan for future needs … all the basic stuff.

My advice to you is to meet with three professionals who can help you understand where you are, where you want to be, and what you need to do in order to get there. They can help you think of things you hadn’t considered, give you a realistic picture of your financial situation, and help you make a meaningful plan.

We won’t waste your time – we’ll add value, providing insight that will make a difference in your life and improving your success as you work toward solid, meaningful plans for yourself and your family.

1) Financial Advisor &
2) Estate Planning Attorney

The first two are a Financial Advisor and an Estate Planning Attorney.

Find a Financial Advisor with a fiduciary duty to you – meaning they are required to provide guidance that is in your best interest (not based on the commission they will make from you). Interview several people and find someone you connect with and trust.

Here’s a great article from Edward Jones about financial considerations: https://www.edwardjones.com/us-en/market-news-insights/guidance-perspective/financial-house-order (Shared by Gabe Csizmadia, Financial Advisor with Edward Jones)

An Estate Planning Attorney can also share things you need to know that you may not have been aware of. If you don’t have the right documents in place, your family could face some difficult challenges that could have been avoided with a simple conversation.

For example – who has the legal authority to make decisions about your remains (and take possession of your ashes if cremated) after you die? Read this article about a document you may want to have: Should this clause be in your will?

I’m glad to provide personal references from my network & those who have served me and my family.

3) Funeral and Cemetery Professional

Me, or someone else who does what i do, can give you a clear picture of your final expenses.

Rather than an estimate of what final expenses are for people on average, you’ll have the actual cost for YOU, based on your unique needs, wishes, and traditions.

You’ll also receive important resources – like an exclusive final wishes journal (free with the free consultation) that will ensure your family knows the answers to the questions that will come up at the time of your death.

I often serve families facing an unexpected or unplanned loss. They tell me they wish they had talked about it before we were at such a crucial, high-stress time. I can hold mom’s hand as we pick out caskets sitting next to dad’s death bed, but i’d rather talk to you TODAY, so you or your loved ones are never in such a situation.

It’s never too early. Have the information now, before you need it. When the day comes that it is needed, the plan will be there. Having a pre-planning conversation with a funeral & cemetery professional is just one more piece in the puzzle of protecting your loved ones.

“Just Cremation”? Some may think that because they want cremation, that is all they have to do – tell their family they want to be cremated. It is worth a conversation with a planning professional to get informed about the process and decisions that will need to be made. “Just cremation” doesn’t mitigate the stress your family will face at the time of your loss, but a simple conversation now can.
